You have seen them publicized on television. Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) that are developed to automate/adapt/enhance vehicle systems for safety and improved vehicle control. Some features are designed to avoid collisions and accidents by offering technologies that alert the driver to potential problems. Others to avoid collisions by implementing safeguards and taking over control of the vehicle. Adaptive features may automate lighting, provide adaptive cruise control, automate braking, incorporate GPS/ traffic warnings, connect to smartphones, alert driver to other cars or dangers, keep the driver in the correct lane or show what is in blind spots.  Pressure Waveform Acquisition and Analysis , From The Inside-Out (8hr  AM & PM session):

  *Course objective is to take the pressure-transducer novice to a whole new level. The goal is for someone with labscope/engine mechanical operation knowledge, to gain the ability to capture pressure waveforms (from the intake manifold/tailpipe and in-cylinder) and be able to use the information to make diagnostic-decisions. The course will cover transducer functionality with both absolute transducers as welll as delta tranducers. It will touch on the benefits and characteristics of both types of transducers and how they can be used to gain an edge. Diagnostic-approach will be carried out using real world examples and actual case studies from my own library. Attendees will leave with  confidence to invest in the tooling to perform pressure testing and analysis to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Engine Integrity Testing – Performing relative and running compression test properly for better diagnostics of the newer active intake manifolds. Detecting common carbon build-up problems due to today’s fuels and consumers using the wrong octane in their vehicles. 

Ignition System Testing – Secondary ignition testing is becoming harder and harder due to system designs. We will go into using the ignition systems Primary as our window into diagnostics.

Fuel Delivery Testing – We will be going over all of the latest testing procedures including Exhaust Gas Analyzing and how to use our equipment as an x-ray machine to look into the system for problems.

EPA Approved Section 609 Program for Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning (MVAC)

The EPA-Authorized Section 609 program that's required if you service mobile A/C systems.

Technicians who service motor vehicle air conditioners must be trained and tested through a U.S. EPA-authorized organization, such as ASE. Training programs must cover the use of recycling equipment in compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, refrigerant containment, and the effects on the environment. To be certified, technicians must review the training material thoroughly and then pass a test demonstrating their knowledge of the training material.

The ASE Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Review and Quiz is an EPA-approved program that meets Section 609 regulations from the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. This program is intended only for technicians servicing motor vehicle air conditioning (MVAC) systems.
